Mizrah plaque : Jerusalem, [2011]

Printed on paper, by Jerusalem Fine Art Prints, under the supervision of Yair Medina. The artist created this work in a traditional Middle Eastern style. Included within it are two texts, both crucial to the mizrah notion. The central text is Psalm 113 (Hallelujah, praise O ye servants the Lord ... from the shining forth of the sun unto its going down, praised is the Lord's name ... ). The large central word is "mizraḥ" (east) in gold leaf. The text flanking the psalm is from the Talmudic Tractate Berakhot 30a. On the bottom of the document the word hallelujah appears in decorative form. The predominate color of the decoration is blue. The document is accompanied by a pamphlet, written by the artist, describing this work.
